The first step to any brand development is reviewing the target market and the competition. I conducted various point of purchase surveys at both consumer retail and commercial sales venues; developed a complete business plant that included executive summary, product comparisons, chemical technology overview, consumer testing, product insights, target market review, team and five year projections.
Packaging design involves both design and engineering. The base line was the 32 ounce consumer spray unit with extensions that included a 1/2 gallon refill, a 35 count wipes container and a 3 ounce travel sprayer. For the final brand direction, a hot pink metallic was chosen to completely stand out from the competition. For the brand logo, I leveraged a metallic gradient. I kept the package description and text highlights on-point to the needs of the target market of eco-moms. To punch up the technology, I created a droplet logo highlighting the H9O4 chemical formulation.
Outside of the consumer line, I also developed various packaging and labeling for commercial lines that included medical, restaurant, and janitorial. I also designed various POP displays, sales collateral, and signage.
